My time on the Assemble Volunteer User Panel

Susannah Robinson holds multiple volunteering roles for the MS Society, including Group Coordinator of our Gwynedd/Ynys Mon Group and Chair of Cymru Council.

She tells us about her time on the Assemble Volunteer User Panel, and shares some tips on what you can do to prepare for the launch of our new volunteer management system.

Digesting the facts about MS

Have you ever wondered how to explain MS to children? We started to realise, from listening at ‘Newly Diagnosed’ events, how daunting talking about MS at home can be for both parents and children. There was a real need for us to support our community by helping them explain MS to children in an age-appropriate, fun and educational way.

A star-studded turnout for SMS Battles

On Thursday 26 September, celebrities and guests gathered for a spectacular evening at Illuminate, at the Science Museum, to raise vital funds for people living with MS.

Guests enjoyed a star-studded interactive quiz, along with a three-course dinner and a special silent auction, featuring exclusive designer items from Sir Rod Stewart’s wardrobe.

So far, the event has raised an incredible £220,000 (and counting) for the Stop MS Appeal, which aims to raise £100 million for MS research.

This page will have all the latest news and support available to get you started on Assemble, including 'how to' videos and guides. You can access these in the support section below and we'll add more resources as we start using the system.

Sharing data with third parties — a data protection reminder

While running your group, you may need to share personal information about your group members and/or those who use your services. Any third-party providers handling this data must undertake to keep it safe.

Assemble launch and data freeze reminder

Throughout this year we’ve been letting you know about plans to launch Assemble, our new volunteer management system (VMS). The system will simplify processes, give you control of your personal data and provide a central source of information. It’ll also replace the Portal and volunteer website, both of which reach end of life this year.

We’ve pulled together a short video to introduce the system, giving you a sneak peek of what it’ll do.
