Developing our strategy for 2025 to 2029

Our current strategy, Every MS Story, was co-produced with the MS community and runs until the end of 2024. We're now working to define our strategy for 2025 to 2029.

We really want to build on our successes, but also to consider what the key priorities are for the next five years. And we want to identify where we really need to make the biggest impact by listening to those affected by, or supporting, people living with MS.

Creating welcoming spaces for all

We know there are many different ways to engage with communities in person and online. And knowing how to be inclusive of everyone can be overwhelming.

So, we've created two new learning modules with useful ideas and resources to help you build on what you’re already doing to create welcoming spaces for all.

Roaming the royal residences

We've been made aware of an opportunity that we're pleased to share with you.

A programme across the King's official residences in London and Windsor offers free visits for community groups and organisations working to support under-reached, disadvantaged and disabled people.

There are two options for in-person visits to Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle or the Palace of Holyroodhouse:

Corporate funding — making local links

Corporate or business funding is a great way to boost your group’s income. There are many ways your local links can come in handy. Businesses can offer general, unrestricted funding or sponsor specific events.

Preparing for Finance Year End 2025

As we wave goodbye to summer, our thoughts are turning to the Finance Year-End process. We're starting early this year to make everything as smooth as possible for everyone involved.

We’ll continue using a simple Microsoft Form for the 2025 Year-End process. However, it's essential that the Finance Volunteer and Group Coordinator for each group can access their MS Society email addresses ([email protected]).

To prepare, here are a few steps you can take to ensure you're ready:

Raising MS awareness at the Super League rugby

A few months ago, we told you that we’d been offered digital billboard space across the UK to use for free throughout the year. You can find out more about this here.

Awards for All - apply now

The Awards for All grant programme has already been successfully used by many of our groups. It can help cover the cost of delivering services or Summer/Christmas celebrations.

About Awards for All

Awards for All offers grants of between £300 and £20,000 to be spent within two years. It’s a relatively simple process, doesn’t have a deadline, and applications can be made at any time.

✓ They can fund equipment, one-off events, small capital projects, staff costs, training costs, transport, utilities/running costs or volunteer expenses.

We want to hear from those caring for people with MS

A few months ago, we told you about Project Mead, our service transformation project. You can read more about the project here. Since then, we’ve been working to understand people’s experiences of accessing our services by undertaking interviews and surveys with the MS community. We look forward to sharing the insight we’ve gathered with you soon.

Responding to racism and riots over recent days

During the last week, the UK has seen a surge in racist rhetoric and disinformation build to a series of violent incidents in communities across England and Northern Ireland. As an organisation, we condemn the attacks on minoritised groups.

We’ll support any volunteers impacted. Below we’re sharing some guidance and support available.
